Support: Neutral
The more supportive the shoe, the more stability it offers for a natural running experience. A combination of tuned support and specifically placed cushioning ensures a secure feel with every step. The Peg 40 impresses with its neutral support. It provides a balanced feel, whether you roll over the heel or the forefoot. It is also suitable for long and short runs and allows a smooth roll from the heel to the toes.
Cushioning: Medium
The more cushioning you have underfoot, the softer and more comfortable the running experience. The cushioning provides impact protection when your feet hit the ground. Nike React technology provides a smooth, responsive ride with lightweight, durable foam. It maintains its shape run after run for a consistent feel.
Responsiveness: High
The more responsive the shoe, the more energy return you get back with every step. Whether you want to run a little faster or with a little less effort, responsive shoes give you a little more bounce with every step, allowing you to get more out of your run. We've combined Nike React technology with two Zoom Air elements (one in the toe and one in the heel) for a springy, energetic feel when pushing off over the toes.
What's new on the Peg 40?
We've placed more foam on the shoe collar for a better fit and increased comfort. Then we improved the lining and padding throughout to provide an incredibly smooth fit.
Comfortable fit and optimal feel
Highly tuned, single layer mesh provides a comfortable feel and fit. We re-engineered the midfoot strap for a more pre-shaped fit on the foot that conforms to any arch.
Behind the Design
When we sat down to develop the design of the Peg 40, we literally took an inside-out approach and started with an implemented midfoot strap for a more secure but comfortable feel, as if the Peg is giving your arch a friendly, gentle hug. We wanted to make the inside of the shoe comfortable, breathable and convenient where your feet are most sensitive: the toes, arch and heel. We achieved this with a specially designed circular pattern that conforms to your foot. The suede material provides a better fit without skin irritation from the first run to the last.
The heel area optimizes the landing area and improves roll-off and durability.
The waffle tread-inspired pattern provides traction on the road.
An additional flex groove allows for a smooth roll-off.
