With the ZINAL, Hoka has achieved the feat of developing a super-light, dynamic and flexible all-rounder. The ZINAL is also visually appealing, very well made and has very good breathability. It offers good to very good grip on all surfaces. The Vibram Litebase sole is particularly impressive in dry conditions. Only on very muddy trails and routes with extremely thick boulders does the ZINAL naturally reach its limits. However, light-footed and technically experienced runners will be able to move the ZINAL well and safely even there. The ProFly midsole is extremely successful and provides a high level of torsional capability, paired with very dynamic rolling behavior and excellent responsiveness. The ZINAL even performs well on asphalt, but shows its full potential on the trail. I haven't been able to run in such a lightweight and dynamic trail shoe for a long time. The fit is also impressive and even narrow feet are held securely in the ZINAL.
