With the TECTON X, Hoka has achieved a masterpiece! It is the first manufacturer to succeed in combining comfort, dynamics, grip, fit, protection and "running fun" at the highest level.

Admittedly, it is not exactly cheap with an RRP of 210 €, but it offers outstanding overall performance! It only reaches its limits in extreme mud.

The Litebase sole provides a very good grip overall. The implemented carbon plates can shift against each other and thus create a better ground contact on challenging terrain. The protection is also at a high level. The ProFly midsole construction with two EVA foams of different hardness and the parallel carbon plates achieves absolute best values for trail shoes. The META (EARLY) rocker supports the rolling motion in a pleasantly progressive manner. All in all, the Tecton X is for me a further improvement on the already excellently tested ZINAL. If you like, the TECTON X is a ZINAL "with protection & turbo", a SPEEDGOAT with extra push and a CARBON X with MegaGrip!

The new Tecton X is named after the tectonic plates of our planet that inspired its parallel carbon fiber plate design - a change that will shake up the trail running world. With a grippy Vibram® Megagrip outsole with Litebase construction, the nimble shoe features a ProFlyX™ midsole that combines a lightweight, responsive foam base with an ultra-soft foam at the bottom of the foot. The Tecton X is HOKA's first trail running shoe with high propulsion, parallel carbon fiber plates. A special single-layer jacquard mesh wraps the foot comfortably and completes the design.
