Hoka Speedgoat 6

I was pleasantly surprised as soon as I unpacked it. The new design definitely appeals to me. The revised upper material, the newly added heel tab and the modified sole construction immediately caught my eye. As with the previous model, the workmanship makes a solid impression. The seams and adhesive surfaces are cleanly finished. There was no unpleasant chemical odour, as often experienced with other running shoes, and overall, the Speedgoat 6 is a very comfortable shoe for short and long trail distances of easy to medium difficulty. For high alpine terrain, however, I would recommend a more compact shoe. It is also not a hybrid shoe, as it shows its strengths off the beaten track rather than on the road. It offers plenty of protection and good comfort and, despite its relatively high stance, you feel stable and secure in technical terrain. The innovations have convinced me, so that the Speedgoat 6 has now replaced the Speedgoat 5 as my favourite trail shoe. Whether light or heavy runners, beginners or advanced runners, I think everyone will feel comfortable in the Speedgoat 6 from HOKA.
