The ALTRA FWD Via is a maximum cushioned running shoe with midsole foam that provides plenty of cushioning comfort even over long distances. A flat drop of just 4 mm and the rocker geometry of the neutral running shoe give you a smooth rolling motion and an effective forefoot strike.
ALTRA EGO FLO cushioning foam for comfortable, maximum

ALTRA uses a new cushioning foam in the FWD Via. This is called EGO FLO and is
produced in a super-critical manufacturing process under the influence of
pressure and heat to achieve its special properties. In the ALTRA FWD Via, this
means soft yet reactive cushioning that supports your runs from the first step
to the last. This makes the neutral running shoe a maximum cushioned training
partner that you can rely on for every running session.
Rocker geometry and flat drop for a smooth running
motion
A flat drop is typical of ALTRA. The ALTRA FWD Via has a drop of 4 mm, so that
the heel is only slightly higher than the forefoot. This favors a more natural
rolling motion. Added to this is the rocker geometry of the midsole. It is
raised upwards like a rocking chair in the forefoot and rearfoot area and
allows your feet to roll gently. And as an additional benefit, the strain on
the Achilles tendon is reduced.
Original FootShape Fit and a breathable upper
Another unique feature of ALTRA running shoes is the shape of the shoe. The
ALTRA FWD Via is based on the "Original FootShape". This means that the shoe
has a straight cut in the big toe area and therefore offers more room for the
toes. The fit in the rear and midfoot area also offers a little more volume
without being too wide. The supple upper material also comes into its own here,
as it can be individually adjusted via the lacing, ensuring a comfortable and
secure fit.
