+ Expert opinion

I have not yet consciously noticed sprey running backpacks/vests in trail or running competitions. So it was new to me that Osprey was serving the running market with its Duro series. In addition to the Duro 6, Osprey also offers a vest with a main compartment of 1.5 liters (Duro 1.5) and a backpack for longer runs with 15 liters (Duro 15), here I would like to talk about a backpack again. This might also be something for “sneaker commuters”1. Overall, the Duro 6 pleasantly surprised me. In terms of comfort, the “compact” vest can definitely keep up with the minimalist lightweights from Salomon or Nathan, to name just two brands. The vest impressed me both when fully packed and when empty. As a bit of a “sucker”, I always fear losses with the “open” compartments of other running vests. However, these “fears” are completely eliminated with the Duro 6 thanks to the many zippered compartments. I'm happy to accept the disadvantage that it's a little more difficult to store or remove. I was very positively impressed by the waterproof valuables compartment and the water-protected main compartment. In addition to the many plus points, I still have to give two minus points. The included signal whistle is a bit quiet and I searched in vain for a rescue blanket, which is mandatory equipment for some trail runs. Every backpack and every vest has its advantages and disadvantages. Therefore, I don't want to claim that Osprey's Duro 6 is better or worse than my Nathan Vapor Karar or Salomon S/Lab Sense Ultra 5 Set. The range of uses has simply expanded. At EUR 120.00 (RRP), the Duro 6 is in the usual price range and, in my opinion, is not overpriced due to the quality and stated longevity, especially since two 500 ml soft flasks are also included in the scope of delivery. I still have a really big request for the backpack manufacturers. Please pack a rescue blanket with every backpack, regardless of whether it is designed for hiking, cycling, running or everyday use. It doesn't cost much and can save lives in an emergency. Read the expert report by Thomas Ritter - https://shop4runners.com/blog/post/osprey-duro-6

The Duro 6's carrying system is made of skin-friendly mesh fabric, making it extremely comfortable and breathable, even when the going gets tough. Multiple stretch mesh and zippered pockets in the front of the vest and waist belt allow easy access to gear and provisions - even while running. Duro 6 is a hydration pack that gives you high flexibility for your hydration strategy. The upper compartments on the vest house two included 500 ml Soft Flasks flexible water bottles that make drinking while running easy thanks to their extended tube and bite valve. An internal hydration bladder pocket also gives you the flexibility to carry a hydration bladder in your pack in case you need extra hydration on hot days or during long runs. The compartment is compatible with Osprey's Hydraulics™ LT hydration bladders. Compression straps provide a snug fit, while the large stretch mesh compartment easily accommodates a waterproof jacket, hat or gloves. Both shoulder straps have a Stow-on-the-Go™ loop that makes it very convenient and clever to carry trail running poles without them getting in the way - and you're hands free. The clever design of the sternum strap closure allows you to open, remove and adjust them with one hand. Plus, they're elastic so they won't get in the way during deep breaths or high activity. The Duro 6 hydration pack was born for running - ideal for those who want to train hard on the trail. Duro is compatible with all Hydraulics™ hydration bladders.
