With the Carbon X3, HOKA may not be achieving a revolution, but it is certainly an interesting evolution! Its RRP has remained absolutely reasonable and is comparatively “cheap”. The workmanship is impeccable and the look is absolutely stunning. Due to its enormous stability and very good performance - especially for heel runners - it opens up a completely different target group than the top carbon racers. “Heavier” people and heel runners in particular will definitely enjoy it. The ProFlyX midsole creates pleasant cushioning with decent rebound, which is effectively flanked by the carbon plate. The successful Early Meta Rocker construction additionally supports the rolling process. Even if the “push effect” is not quite at the level of top racers, the Carbon X3 is still impressive. Overall, the CX3 ranks in the middle range of carbon running shoes and offers a very interesting, stable, durable and quite inexpensive alternative.
